Lakeshore blows out Dresden, 6-3

The Dresden Kings had trouble finding ways to stop the Lakeshore Canadiens, which beat Kings, 6-3.

Lakeshore forced Dresden's goaltenders to work all game long, ripping 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Travis Moore made 21 stops and Jake Wilkins made 12. The Canadiens found themselves short handed often, totaling 40 penalty minutes and allowing 14 power plays.

Lakeshore was helped by Steven Sartor, who tallied one goal and two assists. Sartor scored 12:03 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lakeshore. Mark MacPherson picked up the assist. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Kyle Gagnon, JJ Percy, Parker Boyle, Zack Bedard, and Mejoe Gasparovic, who each put in one. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from Hunter Corp, who had three and Aaron Moore and Brenden Crundwell, who each chipped in two.

The Canadiens were unable to stop the Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Dresden eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Kings were often in penalty trouble, as it ended with eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time.

Dresden was led by Kyle Dawson, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Dawson scored the first of his two goals at 56 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lakeshore. John Montgomery provided the assist. Dawson's next tally made the score 6-3 Lakeshore with 1:38 left in the third period. The Kings earned a power play opportunity when Michael Long was put in the box for slashing. Taylor Sisson picked up the assist. Dresden also got points from Derek Daly, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dresden were Derek Shaw, who had one.

Lakeshore's Brendan Shuck stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Canadiens registered two goals on six power play opportunities. For Lakeshore, Bedard was ejected from the game. Team's Brayden Pegg and Shaw were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
