The Dresden Kings had trouble finding ways to stop the Mooretown Flags, which beat Kings, 6-1. Dresden was stymied by Mooretown's netminder Brandon Johnson, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. Johnson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.35 entering the contest. The Flags' penalty kill excelled, as Mooretown gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. The Flags stifled the Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mooretown's offense rang up 50 shots on Dresden's net. The Flags found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Mooretown has scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Flags were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 28 penalty minutes. Mooretown was helped by Ben Morrison, who racked up one goal. Morrison scored 15:46 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Mooretown. Alec Segers assisted on the tally. Mooretown also got points from Parker Gilhuly, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Mooretown also had goals scored by Christian Lyle, Kyle Smith, Trevor Bogaert, and Matt Brandon, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Mooretown were Cameron Rannie, who had one and Joe DeSena, who had two. The Kings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Dresden did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Kings put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Dresden's offense rang up 32 shots on the Flags' net. The Kings were led by Macks Holmes, who scored the team's only goal. Holmes scored 10:53 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mooretown. Derek Daly picked up the assist. Mooretown ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Colton Osborne was ejected from the game. Travis Moore made 44 saves for Dresden on 50 shots. The Kings ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Dresden, Dillon Liberty was ejected from the game.
