Keating's hat trick boosts Alvinston over Wallaceburg, 5-2

Kole Keating lifted the Alvinston Flyers to a 5-2 victory with a hat trick against the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Keating notched his first tally 14:56 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:33 into the second and at 4:33 into the second.

Alvinston's penalty kill excelled, as the Flyers gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Alvinston's offense rang up 57 shots on Wallaceburg's net. The Flyers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Alvinston additionally got points from Frankie White, who also had one goal and two assists. Blake Hayes also scored for Alvinston. More assists for Alvinston came via Kirklin Dorman, who had four and Brady Swan, Karsten Berg, and Zach VanEyk, who each chipped in one.

The Lakers kept Alvinston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cam MacAlpine made 32 saves on 34 shots.

Wallaceburg was helped by Ryan Greenaway, who registered one goal. Greenaway scored on the power play 15:04 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Alvinston. The Lakers had gained a power play chance when Logan Purbrick was whistled for tripping. Mike Brown provided the assist. Wallaceburg also got a goal from Justin Browning as well. In addition, Wallaceburg received assists from George Wood, who had one and Brett Farr, who had two.

The Flyers registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Derion Ducedre rejected 52 shots on goal for Wallaceburg. The Lakers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
