Horvath's goals lift Blenheim to 3-1 victory over MooretownMooretown Rink 1 Sat, Oct 10, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Zack Horvath was all over the ice for the Blenheim Blades, as he tallied two goals in Blenheim's 3-1 win over the Mooretown Flags. Horvath's tallies came at 15:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Blenheim and 16:15 into the second to make the score 3-1 Blenheim.The Blades' Eric Stewardson was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 25 saves and let only one puck past him. Stewardson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.27 entering the contest. Blenheim's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Mooretown power plays. The Blades forced Mooretown goalie Nolan Hakr to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Nolan VandenBoorn also scored for Blenheim. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Owen Bateman, who had two and Matt Clark, Kirk McKillop, and Nick Delyzer, who contributed one each. The Flags were held below their usual level of production. Mooretown averages 3.4 goals per game. The Flags were led by Trevor Bogaert, who scored the team's only goal. Bogaert scored 14:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mooretown. Mike Kindrachuk picked up the assist. Blenheim incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nolan Hakr made 29 saves for Mooretown on 32 shots. The Flags incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
