Blenheim downs Lakeshore in overtime, 5-4 (OT)Atlas Centre Wed, Sep 30, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Blenheim Blades pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Lakeshore Canadiens on a clutch goal by Drew Marlatt. Marlatt had one goal and two assists to lead Blenheim. Marlatt scored 3:37 into overtime to make the score 5-4 Blenheim. Corbin Hagerman assisted on the tally. The Blades forced Lakeshore goalie Colin Tetreault to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. The defensemen of Blenheim were also effective in the Canadiens' zone, and came away with two goals. Blenheim additionally got points from Nick Delyzer, who also had one goal and one assist and Hagerman, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Blenheim included Bryan Boersma and Kirk McKillop, who scored one goal each. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Owen Bateman and Matt Clark, who contributed one each. Lakeshore kept the Blades' goalie busy throughout the game, and Klinton Kenney made 42 saves on 46 shots. The Canadiens were helped by Zack Bedard, who grabbed one goal. Bedard scored 19:44 into the third period to make the score 4-4. Mejoe Gasparovic picked up the assist. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Colin Sartor, Brandon Ireland, and Parker Boyle, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Lakeshore were Kyle Gagnon, Cameron MacDougall, JJ Percy, Hunter Corp, Austin Jennings, and Jack Bartlett, who each chipped in one. Blenheim finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-5 with the man advantage. Tetreault recorded 44 saves for Lakeshore. The Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
