Blenheim downs Alvinston, 8-4Blenheim Memorial Arena Sun, Sep 27, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Blenheim Blades took home the 8-4 victory over the Alvinston Flyers. Alvinston was unable to stop Blenheim from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Blenheim could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. The Blades were helped by Zack Horvath, who tallied one goal and two assists. Horvath scored 2:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Blenheim. Doug Ross picked up the assist. Blenheim also got points from Bryan Boersma, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Drew Marlatt, who also had one goal and one assist, and Corbin Hagerman, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Blenheim also got a goal from Matt Clark as well. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Brayden Seliga, Dylan Hathaway, Nick Delyzer, and Braeden Allore, who contributed one each and Kirk McKillop and Owen Welch, who each chipped in two. The Flyers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Alvinston was led by Jordan Hayes, who registered two goals and one assist. Hayes scored the first of his two goals at 6:50 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Blenheim. Karsten Berg assisted on the tally. Hayes' next tally made the score 4-2 Blenheim with 10:55 left in the second period. An interference penalty on Allore had put the Flyers on the power play. Clint Rose provided the assist. Alvinston additionally got points from Kole Keating, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Kirklin Dorman also scored for Alvinston. Other players who recorded assists for Alvinston were Patrick Wright, who had one. Klinton Kenney recorded 23 saves for Blenheim. The Blades registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
