Lakeshore falls to Mooretown in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Atlas Centre Fri, Sep 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Mooretown Flags' Ryan Lyle scored 1:36 into overtime to beat the Lakeshore Canadiens, 4-3 (OT). Lyle had two goals to lead Mooretown to victory. The Flags put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Lakeshore to score on any of its four power plays. The Canadiens were unable to stop Mooretown from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flags eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Mooretown additionally got points from Joe DeSena, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Ben Morrison, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Mooretown came via Mike Kindrachuk, who had two and Matt Brandon and Colin Osler, who each chipped in one. Lakeshore's offense rang up 67 shots on Mooretown's net. The Canadiens were led by Guy Lavesque, who racked up two goals and one assist. Lavesque scored the first of his two goals at 2:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakeshore. Lavesque's next tally made the score 2-2 with 5:10 left in the third period. Lakeshore also got a goal from Joe Binder as well. The Flags' Brandon Johnson stopped 64 shots out of the 67 that he faced. Mooretown incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brendan Shuck rejected 32 shots on goal for Lakeshore. The Canadiens incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. |
