Amherstburg rolls over Alvinston, 10-1

The Amherstburg Admirals were firing on all cylinders against the Alvinston Flyers, and when the final buzzer sounded Admirals emerged with a 10-1 win.

Amherstburg forced Flyers' goaltenders to work without much rest, totaling 36 shots and forcing 26 saves. Matt Boere made 26 stops and Cam MacAlpine made zero. The Admirals put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alvinston to score on any of its four power plays.

Amherstburg was helped by Chad Copeland, who registered one goal and two assists. Copeland scored 6:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Amherstburg. Blake Rutckyj provided the assist. Amherstburg also got points from Caleb Paquette, who also tallied one goal and four assists, Curtis Prymack, who also had one goal and one assist, and Rutckyj, who also racked up three goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Amherstburg also got a goal from Lucas Bersuk as well. More assists for Amherstburg came via Kasey Basile, who had two, Mitchel Holden, who had three, and Ryan Wismer, Dean Patterson, Ryan Holzel, Ryan Alexander, and Luke Gangnon, who contributed one each.

The Flyers did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 13 saves. Alvinston could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Hunter Bryce also scored for Alvinston. Other players who recorded assists for Alvinston were Zach VanEyk and Kirklin Dorman, who each chipped in one.

The Admirals' Daniel Tonietto stopped 13 shots out of the 14 that he faced. Amherstburg incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
