Grimsby beats Glanbrook 4-3 after comeback scare

The Grimsby Peach Kings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Glanbrook Rangers on the way to a 4-3 win.

Grimsby made the score 4-2 on a goal by Matthew Jambrosich at 6:49 in the third period, and Glanbrook got as close as 4-3 when Brad Parish scored 14:15 into the third period.

The Peach Kings were sparked by Jambrosich, who registered one goal and one assist.

Grimsby's offense rang up 41 shots on the Rangers' net.

Grimsby also got points from Jeromy Hopkins, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Grimsby also had goals scored by Brady Cranwell and Adam Kirchmayer, who scored one goal each. More assists for Grimsby came via Trevor McEneny and Garnet McComber, who contributed one each and Aidan Board and Brennan Smith, who each chipped in two.

Glanbrook stifled the Peach Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rangers' offense operated below their season average. Glanbrook puts an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. The Rangers forced Grimsby goalie Jeremy Currie to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Glanbrook was helped by Connor Maitz, who grabbed one goal. Maitz scored 1:47 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Laufman provided the assist. Glanbrook also got a goal from Drew Jedrzejewicz as well. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Brett Farrelly, who had two and Jake Bain and Jeff May, who contributed one each.

Jeremy Currie made 30 saves for the Peach Kings on 33 shots. Grimsby incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zach Moore recorded 37 saves for the Rangers. Glanbrook incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
