Dunnville outlasts Simcoe, 4-2Talbot Gardens Sun, Jan 24, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats and the Simcoe Storm was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Dunnville emerged with a 4-2 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Matt Dolan secured the win for the Jr. Mudcats with a goal in the third period. Dolan had two goals to lead Dunnville to victory. The Jr. Mudcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Simcoe power plays. Dunnville kept Simcoe's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathen McKinnon made 51 saves on 55 shots. Others who scored for Dunnville included Connor Schmalz and Damien Lalonde, who each put in one. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Steven Czepek, who had two, Chad Springer, who had three, and Jake MacDougall, Darcy Muller, and Devin Lampert, who contributed one each. The Storm's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to the Jr. Mudcats' power play unit. Simcoe was led by Dakota Culbert, who racked up two goals. Culbert scored the first of his two goals at 9:18 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Culbert's next tally made the score 2-2 with 15:40 left in the third period. Drake Bailey picked up the assist. More assists for Simcoe came via Kevin Cameron, who had one. Brennan Head rejected 25 shots on goal for Dunnville. The Jr. Mudcats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Storm incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
