Grimsby downs Simcoe, 6-0

Brady Cranwell had two points to lead the Grimsby Peach Kings to a 6-0 victory over the Simcoe Storm.

Grimsby's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Peach Kings average 2.7 goals allowed per game. Grimsby forced Simcoe goalie Nathen McKinnon to work between the pipes, taking 57 shots.

Grimsby also had goals scored by Brennan Smith, who had two and Jeromy Hopkins, Dakota Kingston, and James Thorpe, who each put in one. More assists for Grimsby came via Joshua Celebre, who had two and Aiden McCreadie, Carson Macrae, Addison DeTullio, Matthew Jambrosich, and Adam Kirchmayer, who each chipped in one.

The Peach Kings' Marcus Hlywka stopped 17 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Grimsby incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. McKinnon recorded 51 saves for the Storm. Simcoe incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities.
