Dundas outlasts Hagersville, 4-3Hagersville Sat, Jan 16, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dundas Blues gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Hagersville Hawks. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Quinn Sallows secured the win for Dundas with a goal in the third period. The Blues' penalty kill excelled, as Dundas gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. The Blues were sparked by Sallows, who grabbed one goal. Sallows scored 4:33 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Dundas. Connor King assisted on the tally. Hagersville was unable to stop Dundas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blues eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Dundas also got points from King, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dundas also had goals scored by Ray Thompson and Justin Homer, who each put in one. In addition, Dundas received assists from Dan Pelosini, Thomas Dowling, Phoenix Schueler, and Cam McConnell, who contributed one each. The Hawks forced Dundas goalie Colin Bilik to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Hagersville found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays. The Hawks were led by Matt Rimac, who registered one goal and one assist. Rimac scored 3:53 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Mitch Green picked up the assist. Others who scored for Hagersville included Matt Lemassuir and Dan Mederios, who scored one goal each. More assists for Hagersville came via Cole Martin, Derek Friesen, and MIchael Arch, who each chipped in one. Colin Bilik made 30 saves for the Blues on 33 shots. Dundas incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Blues ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Domenic Procopio was ejected from the game. Hagersville's Stephen Tierney stopped 35 shots out of the 39 that he faced. For the Hawks, Max Gunter was ejected from the game.
