Behind a great game by Derek Friesen, who had two goals and one assist, the Hagersville Hawks defeated the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, 4-1. Friesen scored on the power play at 11:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hagersville and again while 10:20 into the third to make the score 3-1 Hagersville.Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 3:33 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Hagersville kept Dunnville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brennan Head made 34 saves on 38 shots. Hagersville also had goals scored by MIchael Arch and Matt Rimac, who scored one goal each. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Bailey Fletcher, who had two and Travis Bell, Cole Dezainne, and Matt Lemassuir, who contributed one each. The Jr. Mudcats were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Dunnville surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. The Jr. Mudcats' offense operated below their season average. Dunnville puts an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game. The Jr. Mudcats were led by Matt Dolan, who scored the team's only goal. Dolan scored on the power play 13:47 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dunnville had taken the advantage when the Hawks' Brayden Hill got sent off for high sticking. Chad Springer assisted on the tally. Stephen Tierney made 20 saves for Hagersville on 21 shots.
