Glanbrook blows out Port Dover, 9-1Glanbrook Arena Wed, Jan 13, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Glanbrook Rangers were firing on all cylinders against the Port Dover Sailors, and when the final buzzer sounded Rangers emerged with a 9-1 win. Glanbrook got the win thanks to a great game by Josh Anger, who had two goals and one assist. Anger scored the first of his two goals at 15:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Glanbrook. Brad Parish picked up the assist. Anger's next tally made the score 8-1 Glanbrook with 2:47 left in the third period. Parish assisted on the tally. The Rangers' Zach Moore was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 36 saves and let only one puck past him. Moore certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.0 entering the contest. Glanbrook's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Port Dover power plays. The Rangers' offense rang up 55 shots on Port Dover's net. Glanbrook outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Rangers average 5.2 goals per contest. Glanbrook's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Glanbrook also got points from Chris Haigh, who also grabbed two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Matthew Hogan, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Glanbrook included Jake Bain, Drew Jedrzejewicz, Jeff May, and Ryan Laufman, who each put in one. More assists for Glanbrook came via Josh Pace, Garnet Batrynchuk, Brett Farrelly, Noah Matteson, and Cole Anderson, who each chipped in one. The Sailors could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Port Dover puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. The Sailors forced the Rangers goalie Moore to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Glanbrook incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Port Dover's Mathew Venturelli stopped 46 shots out of the 55 that he faced. The Sailors incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
