Hagersville beats Simcoe 4-2 after comeback scareHagersville Tue, Jan 12, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Simcoe Storm tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Hagersville Hawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. A goal by Mitch Green put Hagersville up 4-1 in the third period, but Simcoe pulled to within two on CJ Tomlinson's tally 4:14 into the third period. The Hawks were paced by MIchael Arch, who racked up one goal and one assist. Arch scored 19:25 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Hagersville. Matt Lemassuir provided the assist. Hagersville forced Storm's goaltenders to work in net, racking up 40 shots and forcing 36 saves. Nate Prusky made three stops and Nathen McKinnon made 33. Hagersville also got a goal from Dan Mederios as well. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Bailey Fletcher, who had two and Clayton Millard, Cole Martin, Derek Friesen, and Matt Rimac, who contributed one each. Bradley Stitt also scored for Simcoe. More assists for Simcoe came via Tyson Mike, Zak Culbert, Alexander Polillo, and Darren Lynch, who each chipped in one. Ryan Guy recorded 17 saves for the Hawks. Hagersville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Storm incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Simcoe, Grant McKenzie was ejected from the game.
