Glanbrook takes care of Simcoe early, wins 14-3

The Glanbrook Rangers opened up a five-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 14-3 win over the Simcoe Storm.

Glanbrook got the win with help from a great game by Josh Pace, who had two goals and three assists. Pace scored the first of his two goals at 9:00 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Glanbrook. Matthew Hogan assisted on the tally. Pace's next tally made the score 10-1 Glanbrook with 2:15 left in the second period. The Rangers had gained a power play chance when Drake Bailey was whistled for slashing. Jake Bain picked up the assist.

Glanbrook forced Storm's goalies to work between the pipes, getting 50 shots and forcing 36 saves. Nathen McKinnon made 16 stops and Nate Prusky made 20. The Rangers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Glanbrook has scored at the pace of 5.1 goals per game during the current campaign. The Rangers took advantage of Simcoe's penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals.

Glanbrook also got points from Chris Haigh, who also had one goal and one assist, Garnet Batrynchuk, who also registered three goals and one assist, Connor Maitz, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Brett Farrelly, who also had one goal and two assists. Brad Parish also scored for Glanbrook. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Michael Fortino, Jeff May, Noah Matteson, Josh Anger, and Cole Anderson, who contributed one each.

The Storm were helped by Keaton Young APM, who finished with one goal. Young APM scored 10:33 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Glanbrook. Bruder Gabe provided the assist. Simcoe additionally got points from Austin Lavigne, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Simcoe also got a goal from Tyson Mike as well. Other players who recorded assists for Simcoe were Zak Culbert, Grant McKenzie, Alexander Polillo, and Austin Lamb, who each chipped in one.

Zach Moore made 20 saves for Glanbrook on 23 shots. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Simcoe incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
