The Glanbrook Rangers beat the Dundas Blues, 1-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. A goal 13:08 into the first period by Noah Matteson proved to be the game winner, and powered Glanbrook to the victory. Chris Haigh provided the assist.Alex Horawski frustrated Dundas' offense all game, and stopped 50 shots en route to a shutout. Horawski certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.6 entering the contest. The Blues' power play was ineffective against the Rangers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Glanbrook stifled Dundas' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rangers were held below their usual level of production. Glanbrook averages 4.9 goals per game. The Rangers' defensive play was more effective than usual against the Blues. Glanbrook gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Dundas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Blues could not produce up to their normal offensive output.
