Glanbrook beats Niagara 4-3 after comeback scare

The Niagara Riverhawks tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Glanbrook Rangers held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Noah Matteson put Glanbrook up 4-1 in the second period, but Niagara pulled to within one on Andrew Somerville's tally 4:33 into the third period.

Matteson was all over the ice for the Rangers, as he tallied two goals in the win.

Glanbrook's offense rang up 37 shots on the Riverhawks' net.

Others who scored for Glanbrook included Tyler Bell and Brett Farrelly, who each put in one. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Brad Parish, who had two and Chris Haigh, Nicholas Sherwood, Ryan Laufman, Matthew Hogan, and Cole Anderson, who each chipped in one.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Niagara also got points from Brandon McLean, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara were Dawson Ethier, Jamie Bennett, Alex Cipriano, and Dante Zawadzki, who contributed one each.

Alex Horawski rejected 27 shots on goal for the Rangers. Glanbrook incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Niagara's Scott Charanduk stopped 33 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Riverhawks incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
