Niagara downs Dunnville, 5-2

Andrew Somerville racked up one point to lead the Niagara Riverhawks to a 5-2 victory over the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats.

Niagara forced Dunnville goalie Brennan Head to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Niagara also had goals scored by Danny Gallagher, who had two and Brandon McLean and Jamie Bennett, who scored one goal each. More assists for Niagara came via Alex Cipriano, who had two and Patrick Norris, Dawson Ethier, Josh Mallory, and Jarrod Peacock, who contributed one each.

The Jr. Mudcats kept the Riverhawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Scott Charanduk made 31 saves on 33 shots.

Dunnville was helped by Damien Lalonde, who registered one goal. Lalonde scored 17:47 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Darcy Muller assisted on the tally. Dunnville also got a goal from Josh Meeuwse as well. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Matt Dolan and Chad Springer, who each chipped in one.

Niagara incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jr. Mudcats' Head stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Dunnville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
