Glanbrook rolls over Simcoe, 8-1Glanbrook Arena Wed, Dec 09, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Glanbrook Rangers were firing on all cylinders against the Simcoe Storm, and when the final buzzer sounded Rangers emerged with an 8-1 win. Simcoe was stymied by Glanbrook's netminder Matthew Venturelli, who stopped 51 shots during the victory. Venturelli managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.92 prior to the game. The Rangers' offense rang up 54 shots on the Storm's net. Glanbrook surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Rangers average 5.3 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Glanbrook was led by Jeff May, who registered two goals. May scored the first of his two goals at 3:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Glanbrook. May's next tally made the score 8-1 Glanbrook with 4:24 left in the third period. Brandon Kolaski picked up the assist. Glanbrook also got points from Chris Haigh, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Justin Whitwell, who also had one goal and one assist. Glanbrook also had goals scored by Matt Knill AP, who had two and Tyler Bell and Brad Parish, who scored one goal each. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Jake Bain, Michael Fortino, Keaton Kawley AP, Connor Maitz, and Josh Anger, who contributed one each and Nicholas Sherwood and Cole Anderson, who each chipped in two. The Rangers were unable to stop Simcoe from sending pucks towards the net, and the Storm eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. Glanbrook incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Simcoe's Tyson Taylor stopped 46 shots out of the 54 that he faced. The Storm incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
