Glanbrook erases deficit to stun Hagersville, 8-7

The Hagersville Hawks could not hold down the Glanbrook Rangers, and Rangers erased a two-goal deficit en route to an 8-7 win.

Glanbrook let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Rangers took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Curtis Zahorodni at 35 seconds in the first period. Glanbrook found itself down 6-4 after Hagersville's Mitch Green put the puck home at 15:10 in the second period. After knotting things up at 8-8 on a goal by Green at 9:57 in the third, the Rangers got the game-winner from Nicholas Sherwood at 6:45 in the third period.

Glanbrook forced the Hawks goalie Stephen Tierney to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. The Rangers outdid their season average for goals scored. Glanbrook has scored at the pace of 5.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

Glanbrook also got points from Chris Haigh, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Connor Maitz, who also registered two goals and one assist, Zahorodni, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Brett Farrelly, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Drew JeJrzejewicz also scored for Glanbrook. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Justin Whitwell and Jeff May, who contributed one each and Cameron Lapointe and Brad Parish, who each chipped in three.

Hagersville bested its season scoring average. The Hawks average 4.3 goals per game.

Hagersville additionally got points from Cole Martin, who also had one goal and one assist, Dan Mederios, who also registered one goal and one assist, MIchael Arch, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Ethan Hager, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hagersville included Sebastian Welc and Jake Reichheld, who each put in one. More assists for Hagersville came via Matt Lemassuir, who had two and Brayden Hill, Jordy Land, Clayton Millard, and Scott Stirling, who contributed one each.

Matthew Venturelli recorded 23 saves for the Rangers. Glanbrook incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Hagersville's Tierney stopped 32 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Hawks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Hagersville, Aaron Panter was ejected from the game.
