Glanbrook's Maitz deadly on offense in 7-2 win against DunnvilleGlanbrook Arena Wed, Nov 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Behind a great game by Connor Maitz, who had two goals, the Glanbrook Rangers defeated the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, 7-2. Maitz scored on the power play at 17:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Glanbrook and again while short handed 8:07 into the third to make the score 5-1 Glanbrook.Glanbrook's penalty kill excelled, as the Rangers gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. Glanbrook kept Dunnville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jesse Schoeman made 29 saves on 36 shots. Glanbrook additionally got points from Chris Haigh, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Curtis Zahorodni, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Glanbrook also had goals scored by Garnet Batrynchuk and Brad Parish, who scored one goal each. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Brandon Kolaski, who had four and Jeff May, Nicholas Sherwood, and Matthew Hogan, who contributed one each. The Jr. Mudcats forced the Rangers' goaltenders to work between the pipes, ripping 31 shots and forcing 29 saves. Matthew Venturelli made 15 stops and Thomas Caravan AP made 14. Dunnville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game. The Jr. Mudcats were led by Darcy Muller, who registered one goal. Muller scored 11:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Connor Schmalz assisted on the tally. Aaron Krajcir also scored for Dunnville. More assists for Dunnville came via Josh Meeuwse, Josh Phibbs, and Luke Rowe, who each chipped in one. Glanbrook incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. For the Rangers, Justin Whitwell was ejected from the game.
