Glanbrook downs Niagara in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

Nicholas Sherwood gave the Glanbrook Rangers a 6-5 (OT) victory over the Niagara Riverhawks when he scored 1:15 into the extra period.

Glanbrook overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Rangers trailed 4-2 after a power play goal by Niagara's Andrew Somerville at 4:26 in the third period. Glanbrook tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Alex Cipriano at 19:43 in the third period.

The Rangers forced the Riverhawks goalie Sebastian Iannone to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Glanbrook was helped by Garnet Batrynchuk, who finished with three goals and one assist. Glanbrook also got points from Sherwood, who also grabbed one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Glanbrook included Josh Pace and Brad Parish, who each put in one. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Chris Haigh, who had six.

The Rangers were unable to stop Niagara from sending pucks towards the net, and the Riverhawks eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Niagara additionally got points from Volpati Daniel, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Jamie Bennett, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara were Danny Gallagher, Brandon McLean, Richard Deschatelets, and Robert Shaw, who each chipped in one.

Matthew Venturelli rejected 29 shots on goal for Glanbrook. The Rangers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Sebastian Iannone made 34 saves for Niagara on 40 shots. The Riverhawks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
