The Port Dover Sailors and the Simcoe Storm skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Port Dover and Simcoe could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie.

The Sailors were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Port Dover surpassed its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. The Sailors' offense rang up 57 shots on the Storm's net.

Port Dover was helped by Josh Turberfield, who grabbed one goal. Turberfield scored 48 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Dover. Michael Almas provided the assist. Port Dover also got a goal from Eric Mueller as well. In addition, Port Dover received assists from Riley Vanhorne and Michael Boateng, who each chipped in one.

Simcoe excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Storm kept the Sailors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Edwards made 31 saves on 33 shots.

Simcoe was helped by CJ Tomlinson, who registered one goal. Tomlinson scored on the power play 4:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Storm had gained a power play chance when Colton McLeod was whistled for boarding. Zak Culbert assisted on the tally. Dakota Culbert also scored for Simcoe. More assists for Simcoe came via Kent Wardell, who had one.

For Port Dover, Parker Watson was ejected from the game. Tyson Taylor recorded 55 saves for Simcoe. The Storm totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Simcoe ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Alexander Polillo was ejected from the game.
