Dundas rips Niagara, 6-1Gale Centre Thu, Nov 12, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Niagara Riverhawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Dundas Blues, which beat Riverhawks, 6-1. Dundas got the win behind a great game by Mitch Moriarity, who had two goals and one assist. Moriarity scored the first of his two goals at 18:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Dundas. Dan Pelosini picked up the assist. Moriarity's next tally made the score 6-1 Dundas with 7:12 left in the third period. Pelosini provided the assist. Niagara was stymied by the Blues' netminder Colin Bilik, who stopped 32 shots during the victory. Bilik certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.74 entering the contest. Dundas stifled the Riverhawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Blues' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Dundas averages 3.9 goals per contest. Dundas also got points from Pelosini, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Justin Homer, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Thomas Dowling, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Chris Cudek, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Dundas came via Domenic Procopio, who had two and Bryce Robertson and Liam Buckley, who each chipped in one. Niagara could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Riverhawks put an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. Niagara's offense rang up 33 shots on the Blues' net. The Riverhawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game. Niagara was led by Volpati Daniel, who scored the team's only goal. Daniel scored 8:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Niagara. Jamie Bennett picked up the assist. Dundas incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Daniel Kocsis rejected 21 shots on goal for the Riverhawks. Niagara registered zero goals on three power play opportunities. The Riverhawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Danny Ledwez was ejected from the game.
