Dundas' Buckley deadly on offense in 5-2 win against DunnvilleMarket Street Arena Thu, Oct 29, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Behind a great game by Liam Buckley, who had two goals, the Dundas Blues defeated the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, 5-2. Buckley found the back of the net 11:09 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dundas and again while short handed 4:49 into the third to make the score 4-2 Dundas.Dundas' penalty kill excelled, as the Blues gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 4:37 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Dundas was often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 26.0 minutes per game the Blues had been spending in the box. Dundas forced Dunnville's goaltenders to work all game long, taking 37 shots and forcing 32 saves. Jackson Roberts made 16 stops and Brennan Head made 16. Dundas also got points from Ray Thompson, who also had one goal and one assist and Chris Cudek, who also registered one goal and one assist. Dundas also got a goal from Mitch Hall as well. In addition, Dundas received assists from Jaden Simoneau and Domenic Procopio, who each chipped in one and Jamison Buck and Quinn Sallows, who contributed two each. The Jr. Mudcats could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Dunnville puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. The Blues were unable to stop the Jr. Mudcats from sending pucks towards the net, and Dunnville eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Jr. Mudcats were helped by Chad Springer, who tallied one goal. Springer scored 56 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Dundas. Mitch Holodniuk picked up the assist. Damien Lalonde also scored for Dunnville. More assists for Dunnville came via Matt Dolan, Connor Schmalz, and Cody LeVasseur, who each chipped in one. Dundas' Colin Bilik stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Blues registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Dundas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Clay Donnelly was ejected from the game. Dunnville ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For the Jr. Mudcats, Holodniuk was ejected from the game.
