Dundas beats Port Dover 5-1 as Procopio gets hat trick

Domenic Procopio netted a hat trick to lead the Dundas Blues over the Port Dover Sailors, 5-1.

Procopio's first goal came 1:09 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:03 into the second and at 18:32 into the third.

Port Dover was stymied by Dundas' netminder Colin Bilik, who stopped 38 shots during the victory. The solid play of Bilik will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.0.

The Blues' penalty kill excelled, as Dundas gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Blues stifled the Sailors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Dundas kept Port Dover's goalie busy throughout the game, and Rene Kloepfer made 36 saves on 41 shots.

Dundas also got points from Chris Cudek, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Jamison Buck also scored for Dundas. More assists for Dundas came via Cam Docherty and Liam Buckley, who contributed one each and Ray Thompson, Dan Pelosini, and Cam McConnell, who each chipped in two.

The Sailors could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Port Dover averages 4.0 goals per game. The Sailors forced the Blues goalie Bilik to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Port Dover was led by Braden Roberts, who scored the team's only goal. Roberts scored 12:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Michael Almas picked up the assist.

Dundas incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Sailors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
