Glanbrook outlasts Port Dover, 4-3

The Glanbrook Rangers gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Port Dover Sailors.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Cole Anderson's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Garnet Batrynchuk was all over the ice for Glanbrook, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Batrynchuk found the back of the net 14:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 49 seconds into the third to make the score 3-2 Glanbrook.

The Rangers kept Port Dover's goalie busy throughout the game, and Rene Kloepfer made 38 saves on 42 shots.

Glanbrook also got points from Anderson, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Glanbrook also got a goal from Connor Maitz as well. More assists for Glanbrook came via Chris Haigh, who had two and Justin Whitwell and Ryan Laufman, who contributed one each.

The Sailors were helped by Braden Roberts, who tallied one goal and one assist. Roberts scored 14:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Dover. Kyle Dedecker assisted on the tally. Port Dover additionally got points from Matt Fulton, who also registered one goal and one assist and Michael Almas, who also had one goal and one assist.

Matthew Venturelli recorded 17 saves for Glanbrook. The Rangers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Port Dover ended with no penalties and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
