Behind a great game by Chris Haigh, who had two goals, the Glanbrook Rangers defeated the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, 5-1. Haigh scored at 4:53 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Glanbrook and again while 5:42 into the second to make the score 3-0 Glanbrook.Glanbrook's penalty kill excelled, as the Rangers gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. Glanbrook forced Dunnville's goaltenders to work without much rest, racking up 45 shots and forcing 40 saves. Brennan Head made 21 stops and Jackson Roberts made 19. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Glanbrook also got a goal from Justin Whitwell as well. More assists for Glanbrook came via Justin Sandluck, Tyler Strabac, Connor Maitz, and Cole Anderson, who each chipped in one and Garnet Batrynchuk and Nathan Fiorino, who contributed two each. The Jr. Mudcats were held below their usual level of production. Dunnville puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. Jay Payton rejected 21 shots on goal for the Rangers. Glanbrook incurred 52 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Jr. Mudcats ended with 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Dunnville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chad Springer was ejected from the game.
