The Glanbrook Rangers jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Simcoe Storm, 12-0. Justin Whitwell had two goals and one assist to lead Glanbrook. Whitwell scored the first of his two goals at 1:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Glanbrook. Justin Sandluck assisted on the tally. Whitwell's next tally made the score 7-0 Glanbrook with 3:47 left in the second period. Chris Haigh picked up the assist. The Rangers forced Storm's netminders to work without much rest, ripping 54 shots and forcing 42 saves. Nathen McKinnon made 29 stops and Tyson Taylor made 13. Glanbrook stifled Simcoe's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rangers' defensive play was more effective than usual against the Storm. Glanbrook allows 2.4 goals per game. The Rangers bested their season scoring average. Glanbrook has scored at the pace of 5.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals. Glanbrook also got points from Haigh, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Josh Pace, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Garnet Batrynchuk, who also registered two goals and one assist, Nicholas Sherwood, who also had one goal and three assists, and Connor Maitz, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Glanbrook also had goals scored by Ryan Laufman, Matthew Hogan, and Josh Anger, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Glanbrook were Cameron Lapointe, Jeff May, Brett Farrelly, and Nathan Fiorino, who contributed one each. Simcoe could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 50 minutes in penalties during the game. Jay Payton recorded 18 saves for the Rangers. Glanbrook totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 3-for-16 on the power play. The Rangers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Lapointe was ejected from the game. The Storm registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
