The Dundas Blues took the lead against the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-2 victory. A goal 12:21 into the first period by Chris Cudek proved to be the game winner, and powered Dundas to the victory. A checking from behind penalty on Sawyer Madden had put the Blues on the power play. Ray Thompson assisted on the tally.Dunnville's power play was ineffective against Dundas' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Blues were paced by Cudek, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Dundas kept the Jr. Mudcats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brennan Head made 28 saves on 31 shots. The Blues found themselves short handed often, totaling 20 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. Team could not crack Dunnville's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 11 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Others who scored for Dundas included Liam Buckley and Max Giannone, who scored one goal each. The Jr. Mudcats were held below their usual level of production. Dunnville puts an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game. The Jr. Mudcats could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Dunnville was helped by Jake MacDougall, who racked up one goal. MacDougall scored 9:13 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Damien Lalonde picked up the assist. Josh Meeuwse also scored for Dunnville. Other players who recorded assists for Dunnville were Steven Czepek and Davis Hart, who each chipped in one. Andrew Albano recorded 19 saves for Dundas. Team's Czepek and Madden were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
