Dunnville outlasts Glanbrook, 4-2Glanbrook Arena Wed, Sep 23, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Glanbrook Rangers. Dunnville gained the winning advantage on a goal by Josh Phibbs 18:31 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Luke Rowe was all over the ice for the Jr. Mudcats, as he tallied two goals in the win. Rowe scored at 8:29 into the third period to make the score 2-2 and again while 19:47 into the third to make the score 4-2 Dunnville. Dunnville kept Glanbrook's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jay Payton made 38 saves on 42 shots. Dunnville also got a goal from Damien Lalonde as well. More assists for Dunnville came via Josh Meeuwse, who had two and Jake MacDougall, Matt Dolan, Chad Springer, and Millar Leniew, who contributed one each. The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Glanbrook did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Rangers average 5.0 goals per game. Glanbrook was helped by Brett Farrelly, who finished with one goal. Farrelly scored on the power play 4:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Glanbrook. The Rangers earned a power play opportunity when Davis Hart was put in the box for cross checking. Justin Sandluck assisted on the tally. Justin Whitwell also scored for Glanbrook. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Michael Fortino, Chris Haigh, and Garnet Batrynchuk, who each chipped in one. Brennan Head made 28 saves for the Jr. Mudcats on 30 shots. Dunnville incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Jr. Mudcats, Aaron Krajcir was ejected from the game. Glanbrook incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
