M1 Buffalo ^ University at uses shootout to best M1 Davenport University, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Buffalo ^ University at Bulls defeated the M1 Davenport University Panthers in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams. M1 Davenport University got a shootout goal from Alex Hulford. M1 Buffalo ^ University at's other shootout goal was scored by Eric Nestler.

In the losing effort, the Panthers were led by Luke Mccarthy, who racked up two goals and one assist. Mccarthy scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:33 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Buffalo ^ University at. M1 Davenport University had gotten the advantage when the Bulls' John Rein was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Travis White assisted on the tally. Mccarthy's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 3:41 left in the second period. The Panthers found themselves down a man on Everett Thompson's roughing. Cody Walsh picked up the assist.

In a losing effort, M1 Davenport University was paced by Mccarthy, who registered two goals and one assist.

M1 Buffalo ^ University at was led by Luke Swimline, who tallied one goal and one assist. Swimline scored 35 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 M1 Buffalo ^ University at. Nestler provided the assist. M1 Buffalo ^ University at additionally got points from Nestler, who also had one goal and one assist.
