Toledo rides Gibson to victory over Metro, 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Cody Gibson helped Toledo defeat Metro, 2-1.

Toledo was paced by Ben Hamilton, who had one goal. Hamilton scored on the power play 12:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toledo. Toledo had taken the advantage when Metro's David Chavis got sent off for interference. Tyler Zalecki picked up the assist.

Ricky Kwapich also scored for Toledo. Other players who recorded assists for Toledo were Josh Somers, who had one.

Metro could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Metro puts an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game. Metro's offense rang up 48 shots on Toledo's net.

Metro was led by Jacob Drinkard, who scored the team's only goal. Drinkard scored short handed 15:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Metro found itself down a man on Kevin Shand's cross checking. Michael Tratar assisted on the tally.

Gibson recorded 47 saves for Toledo. Toledo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Austin Kane made 26 saves for Metro on 28 shots. Metro incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
