Point Mallard rides Seedott to victory over Nashville, 2-1

Point Mallard relied on the sparkling performance of Cooper Seedott in net to grab a 2-1 win against Nashville.

Point Mallard was sparked by Austin Weber, who registered one goal and one assist. Weber scored on the power play 13:15 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Point Mallard. Point Mallard earned a power play opportunity when Trent Kulczyk was put in the box for boarding. Justin Dunn provided the assist.

Point Mallard's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Nashville power plays. Point Mallard did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Point Mallard averages 4.6 goals per game.

Grant Dukus also scored for Point Mallard. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Justin Delisle and Jake Champaign, who contributed one each.

Nashville's offense operated below its season average. Nashville puts an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game. Nashville forced Point Mallard goalie Seedott to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Nashville was led by Josh Hill, who scored the team's only goal. Hill scored 3:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nashville. William Garrity picked up the assist.

Seedott recorded 45 saves for Point Mallard. Point Mallard totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Nashville's Nicholas Ottenbacher stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Nashville ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
