Mogck's big game bests Helena in 6-2 Bozeman win

Gunnar Mogck was all over the ice for Bozeman, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Bozeman's 6-2 win over Helena.

Mogck scored on the power play at 18:51 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Bozeman and again while 6:46 into the third to make the score 5-2 Bozeman.

Bozeman stifled Helena's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Bozeman forced Helena goalie Grant Martens to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. Bozeman surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Bozeman averages 3.9 goals per game.

Bozeman also got points from Kegan Couture, who also registered one goal and two assists. Elliott Hopkins also scored for Bozeman. More assists for Bozeman came via Nicholas Thompson, who had four and Steven Nisbet, Dylan Michaud, and John Dixon, who contributed one each.

Helena was often in penalty trouble, totaling 12 minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. Helena surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. Helena kept Bozeman's goalie busy throughout the game, and Stephen Frank made 54 saves on 56 shots.

Helena was helped by Blake Babineau, who racked up one goal. Babineau scored 2:07 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Bozeman. Ryan Daugherty assisted on the tally. Helena also got a goal from Cody Vanthournout as well.

Bozeman incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Martens rejected 42 shots on goal for Helena. Helena registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. Helena ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Daugherty was ejected from the game.
