Yellowstone uses fast start to beat Glacier, 9-2

Yellowstone jumped out to a five-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Glacier, 9-2.

Nicholas Elliot had one goal and three assists to lead Yellowstone. Elliot scored 5:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Yellowstone. Nick Greene provided the assist.

Yellowstone forced Glacier's goalies to work all game long, firing 59 shots and forcing 50 saves. Mikhail Pahrebets made 19 stops and Kevin Hale made 31. Yellowstone outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Yellowstone averages 4.6 goals per contest.

Yellowstone also got points from Hunter Ruschmeyer, who also registered one goal and one assist, Max Doner, who also had one goal and one assist, Curtis Greenbush, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Greene, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Tristan Henrichs, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Manuel Manero, who also had one goal and one assist. Reed Kelly also scored for Yellowstone. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Vadym Nesteruk, Carter Johnson, Tony Dahlberg, Will Landsverk, Justin Berezinski, Nick Ligocki, and Matt Runyon, who contributed one each.

Glacier's offense was handcuffed by Yellowstone's defensive play, and Glacier managed only 13 shots on goal during the game.

Evan Eriksmoen rejected 11 shots on goal for Yellowstone. Yellowstone totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Glacier totaled 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
