Twin City takes care of Chicago early, wins 9-2

Chicago fell behind early, and Twin City kept piling on the points on the way to a 9-2 victory.

Tyler Hoff had two goals and one assist to lead Twin City. Hoff scored the first of his two goals at 7:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Twin City. Joe Costello picked up the assist. Hoff's next tally made the score 5-1 Twin City with 3:28 left in the first period. Costello assisted on the tally.

Twin City stifled Chicago's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Twin City forced Chicago goalie Alec Paloumpis to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. Twin City found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Twin City averages 4.4 goals per game.

Twin City also got points from Costello, who also grabbed two goals and two assists. Twin City also got a goal from Marc Sahli as well. More assists for Twin City came via Grant Scharmer, Jared Erickson, and Bennett Witta, who contributed one each, Tristan Mayer and Luc Kreuser, who each chipped in two, and Alex Egle and Jay Paul, who contributed three each.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Jon Albers recorded 15 saves for Twin City. Twin City totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Alec Paloumpis made 38 saves for Chicago on 47 shots. Chicago totaled 45 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play.
