Sugar Land rolls over Euless, 6-0

Sugar Land had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over Euless.

Sugar Land was led by Griffin Eatchel, who registered one goal and one assist. Eatchel scored 3:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sugar Land. Chris Conlin picked up the assist.

Sugar Land forced Euless' goaltenders to work all game long, launching 49 shots and forcing 43 saves. Joshua Beatty made 21 stops and Everett Yasinski made 22. Sugar Land excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Sugar Land found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Sugar Land averages 3.7 goals per game. Sugar Land's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Sugar Land finished with 24 penalty minutes. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Sugar Land additionally got points from Luca Valenza, who also registered one goal and one assist. Sugar Land also had goals scored by Frank Muscarella, who had two and Alex Norwinski and Jonathan Adnell, who each put in one. In addition, Sugar Land received assists from Kyle Hooper, who had two and RC Randall, Zac McKenna, Keith Allen, and Matt DeNure, who contributed one each.

Euless was held below its usual level of production. Euless averages 2.3 goals per game. Euless did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 13 saves. Euless could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Tristan Collins made 13 saves for Sugar Land on 13 shots. Sugar Land registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
