Vance lifts Metro over Wooster, 8-2

Pearce Vance had two goals to lead Metro to an 8-2 victory over Wooster.

Vance scored at 11:11 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Metro and again while 13:46 into the third to make the score 7-2 Metro.

Metro kept Wooster's goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Morgan made 40 saves on 48 shots. Metro bested its season scoring average. Metro averages 5.1 goals per game. Metro's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Metro additionally got points from Jacob Drinkard, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Mathias Tellstrom, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Dylan Naumovski, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Metro included David Chavis, Matt Dempsey, and Kevin Shand, who scored one goal each. In addition, Metro received assists from Cam Schwartz, Robert Flannery, and Devin Kelly, who each chipped in one and Michael Tratar, Chase Sereno, Jacob Rutkoske, Chas Distelrath, and Graham Day, who contributed two each.

Wooster's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Wooster finished with 36 penalty minutes.

Wooster was helped by Tyler Houmard, who registered one goal. Houmard scored 1:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wooster. Wooster also got a goal from Christian Miller as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wooster were Carmon Teel, who had one.

Kameron Limburg made 19 saves for Metro on 21 shots. Metro incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Wooster registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For Wooster, Andy Romani was ejected from the game.
