Point Mallard blows out Louisiana, 8-0

Point Mallard had a six-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-0 win over Louisiana.

Point Mallard was paced by Cody LaValley, who grabbed one goal. LaValley scored 3:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard. Travis Brain provided the assist.

Point Mallard's defensive play was more effective than usual against Louisiana. Point Mallard gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Point Mallard kept Louisiana's goalie busy throughout the game, and Logan Quebedeaux made 41 saves on 49 shots. Point Mallard bested its season scoring average. Point Mallard averages 4.5 goals per game.

Point Mallard also got points from Grant Dukus, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Justin Dunn, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Justin Clark, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Point Mallard also had goals scored by Jake Cox, Josh Hamilton, Stephen Coulter, and Cameron Hamblett, who scored one goal each.
