Graham Day had two goals and one assist to lead Metro to a 5-1 victory over West Michigan.

Day scored at 12:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro and again while 12:39 into the first to make the score 2-0 Metro.

West Michigan was stymied by Metro's netminder Kameron Limburg, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. The solid play of Limburg will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.58.

West Michigan was unable to stop Metro from sending pucks towards the net, and Metro eventually piled up 48 shots on goal. Metro struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 44 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Metro also got points from Jacob Drinkard, who also had one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Metro included Devin Kelly and Kevin Shand, who each put in one. More assists for Metro came via Matt Dempsey, who had two and Cam Schwartz, Mathias Tellstrom, Dylan Naumovski, Jacob Rutkoske, and Jason Recchia, who each chipped in one.

West Michigan's offense operated below its season average. West Michigan puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. West Michigan forced Metro goalie Limburg to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. West Michigan's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as West Michigan finished with 21 penalty minutes.

West Michigan was led by Brendon Block, who scored the team's only goal. Block scored on the power play 5:27 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Metro. West Michigan had gained a power play chance when Kelly was whistled for spearing. Connor Henderson provided the assist.

Metro registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. West Michigan's Maxwell Barr stopped 43 shots out of the 48 that he faced.
