Texas rips Louisiana, 6-0

Texas had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over Louisiana.

Texas was led by Jacob Elrod, who registered one goal. Elrod scored on the power play 11:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas. Texas earned a power play opportunity when Timothy Zittel was put in the box for holding. Zack Andersen assisted on the tally.

Texas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Texas kept Louisiana's goalie busy throughout the game, and Logan Quebedeaux made 39 saves on 45 shots.

Texas additionally got points from Bryan Whelan, who also had one goal and one assist, Brock Brown, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Ryan Dunner, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Texas included Sean McAndrews and Garrett Culps, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Texas were Hunter Frado, who had two and Victor Ekk, Kyle Torgerson, and Kyle Galloway, who contributed one each.

Louisiana was held below its usual level of production. Louisiana averages 2.2 goals per game. Texas' defense shut down Louisiana's forwards for much of the game, and Louisiana got off only 13 shots during the contest.

Brandon Perrone rejected 13 shots on goal for Texas. Texas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Louisiana incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
