Peoria survives Chicago comeback, wins 3-2

Peoria came close to giving away a three-goal lead to Chicago, but did just enough to escape with a 3-2 victory.

Peoria led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Peoria's Chance Homerin scored at 8:35 in the third period to put Peoria up 4-1.

Peoria was led by Thomas Kolaz, who registered one goal and two assists.

Peoria forced Chicago goalie Alec Paloumpis to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots.

Peoria also got points from Homerin, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Peoria included Jason Hoehn and Austin Wisely, who scored one goal each. In addition, Peoria received assists from Andrej Buchko, who had one.

Chicago's offense was handcuffed by Peoria's defensive play, and Chicago managed only 14 shots on goal during the game.

Chicago was led by Timothy Hoffenkamp, who had one goal and one assist. Hoffenkamp scored 9:53 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Peoria. David Rutkowski picked up the assist. Connor Senn also scored for Chicago. Other players who recorded assists for Chicago were Bryce Freel, who had one.

Peoria's Derek Fitzgerald stopped 12 shots out of the 14 that he faced. Peoria avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of three power plays. Paloumpis rejected 55 shots on goal for Chicago. Chicago incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
