Wooster rides Morgan to victory over Pittsburgh, 5-1

Joe Morgan stood on his head and made 43 saves to lead Wooster to a 5-1 victory over Pittsburgh.

Wooster's penalty kill excelled, as Wooster gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Wooster was led by Nick Mooney, who finished with one goal. Mooney scored 9:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wooster. Tyler Groth assisted on the tally.

Wooster stifled Pittsburgh's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Wooster kept Pittsburgh's goalie busy throughout the game, and Marcus Gloss made 27 saves on 32 shots. Wooster's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Wooster finished with 24 penalty minutes.

Others who scored for Wooster included Nick Tobey, Zach Bilius, Tyler Houmard, and Brandon Scholze, who each put in one. In addition, Wooster received assists from Brad Sneed and Mike Ragone, who each chipped in one.

Pittsburgh forced Wooster goalie Morgan to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Pittsburgh was led by Nicholas Lyon, who scored the team's only goal. Lyon scored short handed 2:39 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh played down a man on Kenny White's tripping. Joshua Butterworh picked up the assist.

Wooster registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Pittsburgh incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
