Helena had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-1 win over Glacier.

Helena's Adam Ranck was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. Ranck certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.31 entering the contest.

Helena was led by John Greer, who had one goal. Greer scored 16:56 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Helena. Gavin Lubin picked up the assist.

Helena was often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game Helena had been spending in the box. Helena forced Glacier's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 65 shots and forcing 57 saves. Raymond Smith made 56 stops and Ben Perone made one. Helena put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Glacier to score on any of its five power plays. Helena outdid its season average for goals scored. Helena also had goals scored by Brandon Mills, who had two and Bradley Estrada and Blake Babineau, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Matt Blassic, who had two and Wyatt Stotts, Bryan Knesel, Jack Dolan, Kyle Hayter, and Michael Ballard, who each chipped in one.

Glacier racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and two majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. Glacier surpassed its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game.

Glacier was led by William Bostwick, who scored the team's only goal. Bostwick scored 15:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Wyatt Fretheim assisted on the tally.

Helena registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Glacier ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Fretheim was ejected from the game.
