Peoria's Wisely deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Evansville

Peoria relied on the scoring touch of Austin Wisely, who netted two goals, to beat Evansville, 4-1.

Wisely found the back of the net on the power play 2:34 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Peoria and again while 16:30 into the third to make the score 3-1 Peoria.

Peoria forced Evansville goalie Adam Conkling to work between the pipes, taking 56 shots. Peoria's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Peoria also got a goal from Aaron Siegrist as well. In addition, Peoria received assists from Levi Armstrong, Andrej Buchko, Thomas Kolaz, and Mark Candotti, who each chipped in one.

Evansville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Evansville was led by Brandon Bornkamp, who scored the team's only goal. Bornkamp scored 8:03 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. William Bonser picked up the assist.

Peoria's Ross Lipic stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Peoria incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Conkling recorded 52 saves for Evansville. Evansville registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Evansville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bornkamp was ejected from the game.
