Helena hangs on, beats Billings 4-2

Helena took the lead against Billings in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 4-2 victory.

Michael Ballard provided Helena with the game-winning tally when he scored 8:10 into the first period. Johnny Bonta assisted on the tally.

Helena was paced by Bryan Knesel, who finished with one goal. Knesel scored 6:52 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Helena. Blake Babineau picked up the assist.

Billings was unable to stop Helena from sending pucks towards the net, and Helena eventually piled up 54 shots on goal. Helena got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Others who scored for Helena included Connor Dunn and Ryan Daugherty, who scored one goal each. In addition, Helena received assists from Brandon Mills, who had two and Wyatt Stotts and Jay Forbes, who contributed one each.

Billings was helped by Connor Melton, who grabbed one goal. Melton scored 9:33 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Helena. Kenneth Miller provided the assist. Billings also got a goal from Austin Lange as well. More assists for Billings came via Chad Stucker, Cameron Birklid, and Tristan Henrichs, who each chipped in one.

Grant Martens recorded 27 saves for Helena. Helena incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Gage Overby made 50 saves for Billings on 53 shots. Billings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
