Ennis nets hat trick, leads Minnesota to 7-5 win over Rochester

Rochester could not stop Minnesota's Ty Ennis, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-5 win.

Ennis notched his first tally 7:25 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:20 into the third and at 19:27 into the third.

Minnesota led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Minnesota's Kyle Wendorf scored at 1:29 in the third period to put Minnesota up 5-2.

Minnesota kept Rochester's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Kostelnik made 29 saves on 36 shots. Minnesota's goal total was higher than its season average. Minnesota averages 3.4 goals per game.

Minnesota additionally got points from Wendorf, who also had two goals and one assist. Alec Skar also scored for Minnesota. More assists for Minnesota came via Tyler Leverty, who had two, Luke Erickson, who had three, and Lucas Mickelson, Lucas Mutschelknaus, and Frankie Moore, who contributed one each.

Rochester was helped by Nick Paulson, who finished with three goals. Rochester also got points from Sam Bjellum, who also registered one goal and one assist. Rochester also got a goal from Spencer Hadacek as well. In addition, Rochester received assists from Griffen Buck, who had two, Trey McMillen, who had four, and Hunter Heightland, Dominik Bogdzuil, and Colby DeCarlo, who each chipped in one.

Brady Griffin made 12 saves for Minnesota on 17 shots. Minnesota incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Rochester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
