Sugar Land falls to Louisiana in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Louisiana's Ian Hale scored 2:39 into overtime to beat Sugar Land, 5-4 (OT).

Louisiana came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Louisiana fell behind 4-2 after a goal by Sugar Land's Chris Conlin at 7:29 in the third period. Louisiana knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Brayden Hutchinson at 19:43 in the third period.

Hutchinson and Jeremy Brown provided the spark for Louisiana, combining for three goals and three assists. Hutchinson registered two goals and Brown also added one goal and three assists.

Louisiana's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, Louisiana averages 2.9 goals per contest.

Louisiana also got points from Brown, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Louisiana also got a goal from Joshua Jorajuria as well. In addition, Louisiana received assists from Tucker Alspaugh, who had three and Jonathan Hebert and Davis VanGemerden, who each chipped in one.

Sugar Land stifled Louisiana's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Louisiana was unable to stop Sugar Land from sending pucks towards the net, and Sugar Land eventually piled up 51 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Sugar Land was led by Frank Muscarella, who tallied two goals and one assist. Muscarella scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 35 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-2. Jonathan Adnell assisted on the tally. Muscarella's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Sugar Land with 13:38 left in the third period. Sugar Land had gained a power play chance when Mitch Dolese was whistled for delay of game. Matt Cozzan picked up the assist. Zac McKenna also scored for Sugar Land. Other players who recorded assists for Sugar Land were Michael Crowley, Luca Valenza, Keith Allen, and Estevan Cortes, who contributed one each.

Louisiana's Sean Angle stopped 47 shots out of the 51 that he faced. Louisiana incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Daniel Mignault rejected 17 shots on goal for Sugar Land. Sugar Land incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
